Gardens of Queluz Palace
In the first part of the project we obtained
surveys, final plans for the works and develop a budget that allows
determining, with precision, the works to be executed and the
methodologies by which the work should be done, as well as the
corresponding costs in order to complete the entire Hydraulic
System’s Restoration Project.
The different parts of the project will be assessed and executed
by specialists, namely in the areas:
- hydraulics for the Canal and the other water features;
- glazed tiles conservation on the Canal;
- lead conservation on the Jardim Principal water features;
- stone conservation generally in all water features and some
hydraulic structures.
The Lead sculptures subproject is being carried
out in collaboration with WMF-Britain, who is mainly responsible
for its funding.
The final objective is to obtain data referring to technical,
scientific and financial aspects, which form the basis of the
information necessary for the correct planning of the second part
of the project. This consists of the flawless execution of the
works which lead to the global restoration of the 18th century
hydraulic system and water features, as well as the irrigation
system of the gardens.
